Career Coaching for Teenagers
Coaching is a very powerful process for your teen. It is a time where they can take full control of their future, at a pace suited to them. They are ‘the decision makers’ in the process and no parent and teacher are around to influence them.
The process takes them initially on a journey of self discovery where we discuss their strengths, passions and life ambitions. They find out who they are and what they can offer, During this time, your teenager will visibly grow in self confidence and know their self worth. A super important stage. After this, we start to look potential careers.
When teenagers look at careers using their strengths, they are more likely to choose one that is most suitable and they stick at it. I show them how to research potential careers and apply what they have learned about themselves to verify their choice. Many students choose careers for the wrong reason and end up regretting it.
Once they have confirmed their career goals, they will have a sense of real ownership - they know where they are going and what they want to achieve.
Coaching is a powerful process for anyone to go through, but for teenagers, it can be their first introduction to the adult world of evidence-based decision making which can catapult them way ahead of their peers. It provides many benefits that enables them to grow in confident young adults and work to their strengths which feeds back into self-confidence and self-worth.
